This follows our telephone conversation earlier today.

I am the author of the best-seller "Key financial instruments: understanding and innovating in the world of derivatives" (Financial Times Prentice Hall) and a financial product innovation and risk management consultant. I have often seen that a simple change can make an enormous difference.

May I suggest that Chairman Yasser Arafat be persuaded to stop wearing military uniform and wear a combination of Western and national dress in the styles of President Mubarak, Musharraf and Sharon.

That small and symbolic change could demonstrate visibly his peaceful credentials and perhaps be a small step to a solution of the Israeli / Palestinian conflict.
